RULE Gallery invites the public to a special Closing Party on Saturday, March 9, from 12-5p to celebrate the final day of our exhibition, The Unusual Suspects, featuring work by Joe Clower and Amber Cobb. In addition, the gallery will host Denver artisans Vanessa Barcus of Talisman Fine Jewelry and Cornelia Peterson of Cornelia Max Woodworking in a specially curated trunk show in the gallery's viewing room upstairs. Complimentary mimosas and Topo Chico will be served until they are gone.

About the artists:
Talisman Fine Jewelry offers a collection of sculptural, heirloom jewelry that evokes an abstract, modernist sensibility with a decidedly ancient feel. Designed by former Goldyn boutique owner Vanessa Barcus, the line is sustainably handmade using traditional lost wax casting and forming techniques in recycled 14k gold. Although designed as fine jewelry for daily wear, each piece has a strikingly substantial look and feel, riding the lines between everyday jewelry, art, and sacred adornment.

Cornelia Max Woodworking handcrafts utilitarian wooden objects that blur the boundaries between art and function. Peterson thoughtfully carves each piece using various tools in her home studio, emphasizing the wood's grain and shape while embracing the materials' natural imperfection. Rather than plan out shapes or structures, she allows the wood to guide her, allowing each piece to have it's own unique character.
