Beginning Encaustic Painting with Michele Messenger:

In this 2 day session (9am-4pm each day), we will learn all about the ancient art of painting with wax — starting with successful layers, correct fusing, and paints from glaze to opaque as well as different treatments for the substrates and simple techniques (stencils, image transfers, fill-and-scrape) for big results. You’ll go home with a handful of finished 6x6” boards (provided) and a new appetite for beeswax! No experience is necessary for this class and it is fine to repeat it more than once — there’s a lot to learn.
